Native ports are preferable to improvised adapters
A factory OCuLink port avoids sacrificing an internal M.2 slot and usually provides a cleaner cable path. Verify the lane count and PCIe generation in the product documentation.
The processor must keep up with the GPU
A powerful desktop card can be underused by a low-power processor in CPU-heavy games or data-preparation tasks. Match the mini PC CPU tier to the intended GPU class.
Plan memory and internal storage separately
The eGPU adds graphics memory, not system RAM or local SSD capacity. Local AI and creative workloads may still need 32GB, 64GB or more system memory and fast model storage.
Keep the desk and power layout practical
