For 4K120, Apple instructs users to reformat the external device before each recording session for optimal performance. That requirement changes the field workflow. Footage must be copied and verified before the next session, and the volume must not be the only archive.
Mounting, cable strain and gimbal balance
The T7 Shield weighs roughly 98g, not including the cable and clamp. On a handheld phone this affects balance. On a gimbal it can exceed the intended payload or shift the centre of gravity. On a tripod it can still damage the connection if the cable is pulled.
- Keep the cable loop short enough not to snag, but not so tight that it pushes sideways on the connector.
