How to read the SSD Price Tracker

The lowest sticker price is not always the best SSD deal. A 500GB drive can cost less in total while being much more expensive per terabyte than a 2TB model. This tracker shows both purchase price and price per terabyte. Use total price when the budget is fixed, and price per terabyte when comparing capacity value.

The median is the main market benchmark because one clearance offer, coupon error or suspicious listing can distort an ordinary average. Cloudzat also keeps each interface and condition separate.

Which SSD categories are tracked?

The tracker covers PCIe 5.0, PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 3.0 NVMe drives, generic NVMe models, 2.5-inch SATA SSDs, M.2 2230 drives and portable USB or Thunderbolt SSDs when matching products are available.

Why the cheapest price per TB is not automatically the best buy

Price per terabyte is a value signal, not a complete quality score. Check fit, interface, warranty, heatsink requirements and sustained performance before purchasing. Use the filters to create a fair comparison set before choosing the cheapest option.

Methodology and disclosure

Cloudzat compares in-stock listings with known capacity and positive prices, keeps conditions and interfaces separate, and filters obvious product mismatches before calculating market values.

As an Amazon Associate, Cloudzat may earn from qualifying purchases. Always verify the exact model, capacity, seller, condition and warranty at checkout.

SSD price tracker FAQ

How often are SSD prices updated?

Prices are checked as new market data becomes available, and the chart builds a daily price history over time.

Why use price per terabyte?

It makes different capacities comparable and reveals when a larger drive offers better proportional value.

Are renewed SSDs included?

They can be displayed, but renewed, recertified, refurbished and used offers remain separate from new-drive benchmarks.

Why is a very cheap SSD missing?

It may be an accessory, memory card, capacity mismatch, wrong storage type or high-risk listing.

Does a low price prove an SSD is fake?

No. Price is only one risk signal and does not by itself prove fraud.

Can the chart show a full year immediately?

No. The chart grows as Cloudzat records more price history over time.
