Why price per terabyte is only the first filter
Price divided by stated capacity creates a useful common scale across 4TB, 8TB, 12TB, 16TB and high-capacity Pro drives. It quickly reveals when a capacity is temporarily overpriced. It does not describe redundancy, usable space, occupied bays, power, warranty or seller quality.

Raw capacity versus usable capacity
