Start with the workload

Text generation, image generation and video generation stress hardware differently. Text models are often limited by VRAM capacity and memory bandwidth, while image and video workflows can also depend heavily on CUDA support and optimized application pipelines.

VRAM is the hard limit

A card can be fast yet unsuitable when the model, context cache and runtime workspace do not fit. CPU offloading can make a model run, but it usually reduces responsiveness and can require much more system memory.

Plan the whole workstation

The graphics card determines much of the build, but power supply capacity, case clearance, cooling, system RAM and fast SSD storage must also be sized correctly. Multi-GPU systems add slot, airflow and software constraints.

Use estimates as a planning range

Quantization formats and runtimes do not use identical memory. The builder shows minimum and comfortable ranges so you can avoid buying a configuration that works only under ideal conditions.
