How to plan this model

The strongest two-bay option in this group

The DXP2800 combines two SATA bays with an Intel N100 processor, 2.5GbE networking, expandable memory and two M.2 slots. It is the better fit than the DH2300 when Docker, x86 software compatibility, SSD storage or hardware-assisted media work matters.

Plan around RAID 1

Most two-bay buyers should use two matched CMR NAS drives in RAID 1. The second drive mirrors the first, so two 12TB drives provide about 12TB before system and file-system overhead rather than 24TB.

Do not confuse raw and usable capacity

UGREEN markets the maximum installed capacity across SATA and M.2 slots. Your usable HDD capacity depends on the selected RAID level, drive size, system partitioning and the difference between decimal TB and binary TiB.

DXP2800 questions

Does the UGREEN DXP2800 include hard drives?

No. Standard listings are diskless, so SATA hard drives and optional M.2 SSDs must be purchased separately.

What RAID should I use on the DXP2800?

RAID 1 is the usual choice for two matched drives when protection from one drive failure matters. RAID 0 provides more usable capacity but no drive-failure protection.

Can the DXP2800 run Docker?

Yes. It uses an Intel x86 processor and UGOS Pro supports Docker. Application requirements and available memory still determine how many services can run comfortably.

Can I use different-size drives?

You can, but RAID 1 generally uses the capacity of the smaller drive. Matched capacities and similar drive models are easier to plan and replace.

Is the DXP2800 good for Plex?

It is a capable compact media NAS, especially for direct play. Transcoding results depend on codec, bitrate, subtitles, client support and Plex settings.

RAID improves availability but is not a substitute for an independent backup.
