Use a percentage that reflects actual activity rather than selecting an optimistic value to make the drive size smaller. Security requirements may also favor retaining continuous footage even when object events are indexed separately.
H.265 can reduce bitrate but affects compatibility

Frigate supports NFS and SMB recording, but network storage adds latency and another failure domain.
