DAS is usually simpler and cheaper when storage belongs to one workstation and network services are unnecessary. It can also avoid network bottlenecks for local transfers.
NAS becomes more useful when multiple devices need the same files, remote access or server applications.
What should I verify before ordering?
Confirm the exact model number, bay or slot count, whether drives are included, the network or host interface, memory configuration where relevant, and the seller. Marketplace titles can combine several variants even when the displayed price belongs to only one.
