For a new purchase, compare the exact offered models, condition and current price. ST1000DM014 is the current SMR BarraCuda; ST1000DM010 is an older CMR model. A WD Blue model should be judged by its own exact number, not by the “Blue” label alone. If either 1TB HDD approaches the price of a SATA SSD, the SSD is usually the better boot-drive purchase.
