## Content

Cloudzat is a storage and compute price-intelligence site. We track what hard drives, SSDs, NAS systems, home-server and PC hardware, local AI machines and cloud storage actually cost, then turn that into comparisons, calculators and buy-watch-wait research so you can size the right hardware at the right price.

## What we cover

- [Storage prices](https://cloudzat.com/disk-prices/) — HDD and SSD listings compared by price per TB, plus NAS-class drives tracked separately from desktop drives.
 - [NAS and home servers](https://cloudzat.com/nas-servers/) — platforms, drive compatibility, RAID overhead, networking and power.
 - [Local AI hardware](https://cloudzat.com/local-ai/) — matching model size, memory, VRAM and storage to realistic machines.
 - [PC hardware](https://cloudzat.com/pc-hardware/) — CPUs, motherboards, memory, GPUs and complete builds.
 - [Cloud and object storage](https://cloudzat.com/cloud-storage-pricing/) — cost per TB, egress charges and the real cost of moving data out.
 - [Price forecasts](https://cloudzat.com/price-forecast/) and the [Storage Price Index](https://cloudzat.com/storage-price-index/) — observed price direction across the NAND and HDD cycle.
 - [Calculators](https://cloudzat.com/calculators/) and [compatibility checkers](https://cloudzat.com/storage-compatibility-checker/) — capacity, RAID, total-cost and fit checks before you buy.

## How Cloudzat checks a price

A sticker price on its own is rarely the useful number. Every comparison on Cloudzat is built on four checks:

- **Exact model.** Model number, capacity, interface and product class are verified before a listing is allowed into a comparison, so a shucked external drive is not lined up against an enterprise SATA drive.
 - **Price per capacity.** We normalise to price per TB (or per GB) so an 8 TB and a 20 TB drive can be compared on value rather than on list price.
 - **Compatibility.** NAS vendor support, memory limits, VRAM, networking, cooling and workload requirements can rule a product out regardless of how cheap it is.
 - **Total cost.** RAID overhead, cloud egress, power draw, upgrade paths and replacement strategy change what a purchase really costs over its life.

Prices shown are observed at the time of the last update and are refreshed on a rolling basis. Forecast and index pages state the date of their most recent data so you can judge how current a figure is.

## Editorial principles

- Comparisons are driven by data, not by which product pays the highest commission.
 - We say so when a price is unusual, when a cheaper option is the better buy, and when waiting is the right call.
 - Pages are corrected when readers or manufacturers point out errors. Use the [contact page](https://cloudzat.com/contact/) to report one.
 - Product and model pages are reviewed and updated as pricing cycles, firmware and vendor compatibility lists change.

## How we are funded

Cloudzat is reader-supported. Some links on this site are affiliate links, including Amazon Associates links: if you buy through one we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence which products appear in a comparison or how they rank. Full details are in our [affiliate disclaimer](https://cloudzat.com/affiliate-disclaimer/).

## Who runs Cloudzat

Cloudzat is published by Blackcedar Media Limited, which also operates a portfolio of data-driven comparison and reference sites. The team researches storage, server and compute hardware full time and builds the price-tracking tools and calculators used across the site.
